COVID-19 has hit communities hard across the world. Our California Central Coast community, with beautiful ocean views and rich agriculture land, is no exception. Many of us have sheltered in place and social distanced at home. However, farmworkers and other essential workers continue to work. Especially now, as local farmworkers prepare for the busy agricultural season, it is important to help them stay healthy. The providers at Salud Para La Gente (Salud), a community health center offering healthcare primarily to farmworkers living and working on California’s Central Coast are committed to collecting and distributing masks to help workers stay healthy. Face covering is especially important when they are in confined spaces such as carpooling to work, crowded households, and running essential errands. Please help us protect the health of our farmworkers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
