Salud Para La Gente’s Board Announces Next Chief Executive Officer

(Watsonville, CA) Salud Para La Gente’s (Salud) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Donna Young as Salud’s next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Donna Young will replace Dori Rose Inda, who is slated to retire in June 2023.

“Donna Young has a strong background in healthcare administration that is just what we need to move Salud into the future,” says Dr. Faris Sabbah, board chair. Donna Young was selected after an extensive five-month search, with the help of a Board committee and staff.

Donna Young currently works as Regional Administrator at The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG), Kaiser Permanente, in Oakland, California. “I am honored to dedicate the next chapter of my career in service to Salud’s mission-driven values of service, dignity and equity,” she says. “My passion for community health was fueled by my training in public health and healthcare administration. Joining Salud reflects my commitment to working with Salud’s exemplary staff to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of the Pajaro Valley.”

Donna Young is a seasoned health executive with more than 30 years experience. Through her current role as Regional Administrator at TPMG, she’s been part of the executive leadership team overseeing and developing strategy for Adult Medicine, Family Medicine, Women’s Health, Pediatrics and Mental Health Services. Donna Young has a track record of success leading systems change across operational, administrative, and technology adoption portfolios. Her many achievements include partnering with physicians and other leaders to implement Quality initiatives that improve care for patients, leading implementation of the outpatient electronic medical record system, and leveraging knowledge of hospital operations to develop and enhance integrated care.

She holds both a Master’s in Public Health and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley. She lives in the Bay Area and will be relocating to the Central Coast to live and work in the community. Donna is expected to start in her new role as CEO of Salud on April 24, 2023.

Outgoing CEO Dori Rose Inda joined Salud in 2012, growing the organization in size, population served, practice areas and programs. She integrated social-determinant-of-health interventions and a focus on upstream health into the care delivery system, as well as increased patient access to specialty care services. Dori Rose Inda announced her retirement in May 2022 and plans to remain through the transition of the new CEO until June 2023.
